Privacy note: Your content is stored in your personal Google Drive, not on MemoryStore servers. You own your data.
Step 3: Configure AI (Optional but Recommended)
AI analysis is what makes MemoryStore powerful. It automatically analyzes every video you save, making everything searchable by content—not just titles.
Set Up Google Gemini API
- In MemoryStore, go to Settings → AI Configuration
- Tap "Get API Key" to open Google AI Studio
- Sign in with your Google account
- Create a new API key (free tier available)
- Copy the API key
- Return to MemoryStore and paste your key
- Tap "Save"
Cost: Google's free tier includes 60 requests per minute. Typical usage costs $5-15/month for heavy users.
Why Configure AI?
With AI enabled, MemoryStore automatically:
- Transcribes everything said in videos
- Identifies visual elements and objects
- Generates searchable summaries
- Enables semantic search (find by meaning, not keywords)
Without AI: You can still save and organize content, but search is limited to titles and manual notes.
Step 4: Install the Chrome Extension (Optional)
The Chrome extension lets you save content directly from your browser—perfect for LinkedIn, YouTube, and X/Twitter.
Add to Chrome
- Open Chrome Web Store
- Search for "MemoryStore"
- Click "Add to Chrome"
- Confirm the installation
- Click the extension icon and sign in with your MemoryStore account

Troubleshooting Common Issues
MemoryStore Doesn't Appear in Share Sheet
Fix: Go to Settings → Safari → Extensions and enable MemoryStore. Or scroll to the end of the share sheet, tap "More," and add MemoryStore to favorites.
AI Analysis Isn't Working
Fix: Check Settings → AI Configuration. Ensure your API key is valid and has available credits. Test with a small video first.
Video Won't Save
Fix: Some content is protected and can't be saved. Try saving from a different platform or use the Chrome extension for desktop saving.
